5 out of 5 stars Nice small rice cooker   October 13, 2009

This makes just enough rice for two people. It takes about 35 minutes for white rice to completely cook. You put in the rice with tap water, and need to stir it once the water starts boiling. Then, after the cooking cycle is complete, let it steam for 10 minutes or so. It works great for my needs. I purposely wanted something small enough to sit on my counter and this fits the bill perfectly. Nice product. Good quality.

5 out of 5 stars Small enough to take it with you..   January 29, 2010

I take this little rice cooker every where I fly, I've been a flight attendant for Delta for years and not every layover is "let's see where we can eat out tonight?" I enjoy bringing my own food and like to have it while I relax in my hotel room. I use this rice cooker to heat up my food/soup/oat meal/whatever, or making myself a bowl of hot noodle. It cooks rice perfectly and it will keep it warm overnight. It will work anywhere if there is a 110 volts, that means I bring my own transformer when I travel overseas. It's easy to clean and as long as I don't drop it on the floor, it keeps on cooking. You can say that my little rice cooker has many miles on it.......

I love this rice cooker, so much that I would like it to be bigger. It's a little small for us (family of 4). I did not experience any leaks, as I read in some reviews. I tried white and brown rice, it cooks fast and the rice is great.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for rock-bottom price   December 7, 2009

I just got this, and just ate my first meal from it today.
Brown rice (the hardest to cook well), and some steamed organic carrots, broccoli, baby bok choy and mustard greens. Some dried oregano and a little lemon juice for flavor.
Perfect rice, delicious meal!
I followed the grocery store recommended proportions (2 cups water to 1 measure of rice) for bulk long-grain brown rice, not the user manual (1 up water to 1 measure of rice) and cooked it for about an hour, adding the veggie steamer at about 45 minutes. It went to warm after about an hour, and rather than risk it burning the rice on the bottom, I let it sit on warm for 5 minutes and then unplugged it and left it for another 5 minutes. I stirred it with a silicone spatula a couple of times while cooking. (The plastic spoon was missing from the box, but I would not have used it anyway, because I want to preserve the teflon as long as possible).
The results were, to repeat, perfect. A simple meal, totally delicious, cooked without a kitchen.
I like my toys, and I was looking at a stainless steel Japanese model with a supercomputer running it, that cost north of $250. I bought this one on impulse, and it did the job for about $14. I don't know how long it will last, and I don't care. It will pay for itself in 3 or 4 meals. A great intro to using a rice cooker, and I may be using it for years to come. Recommended for a single person if you are cooking a complete meal, or 2 people if you are cooking rice as a side dish.

5 out of 5 stars Love my rice cooker   November 5, 2009

This little rice cooker is the perfect size for me, making enough for two servings. Plus, the bowl size is so much easier to clean than my much bigger 8 cup one. I love it.
