Product Description The new Orka Tajine, updated in material (silicone) and technology (ready-made to withstand oven or microwave) takes its influence fron the North African method of cooking one-pot meals to perfection. The tall, chimney-like cover cleverly steams-cooks meats and sides in one covered pot, keeping all the flavors with none of the fat. Orka's Tajine responds to the needs of cooks who are both time-pressed (one-pot meals) and appeals to those seeking a fast, easy way to eat healthy. Add fresh or frozen meats, veggies and side of choice, as desired (potatoes, rice, couscous) - and let the Tajine do the rest. This silicone tajine is perfect for making delicious meals according to old recipes in the microwave or oven. Food cooks in its own juice; no water or fat required. Preserves essential vitamins and minerals. A utensil made out of modern materials for traditional cooking. In flexible and unbreakable silicone. This tajine is easy to store and to clean. 27 oz. capacity.

| Customer Reviews: Great steamer! March 28, 2008 Mary G. Corson (Southern NJ) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I bought two of these tagines--total impulse buy, as we were looking for ways to steam food. They have been an integral part of my kitchen ever since. Spray them with cooking spray, add some fish cut into chunks(we have tried tilapia and salmon thus far), thinly sliced vegetables and spices (I have been experimenting with making my own ras el hanout), put it in the oven at 360, and in 20-25 minutes, dinner is ready!
Comes with a small recipe book that suggests microwave use, but we would rather use the oven. Overall, the tagine makes moist, flavorful low-fat, low calorie meals that don't taste low-fat, low calorie!
Definitely one of my better impulse buys!
Tagine Review March 26, 2009 Mark N. Muenchrath 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I use my tagine several times per week. It is a great product for easy to prepare meals. I just put some chicken with fruits, veges, and spices in the tagine and cook for an hour. Then I add couscous to the drippings and have a satisfying meal. The only drawback is the lid doesn't seal with the bottom portion, so the juices often overflow in the oven.
Perfect for 2-3 people January 25, 2009 Kennethq S. Manning (Rexford, NY United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is my second tajine (yes, I am the crown prince of Tajinistan) and I was at first worried about its small size and it being of silicon. I now love both features. It is perfect for filling full of whatever is leftover (noodles are a favorite), mixing with some eggs and cheese and making a breakfast for two.
If you limit tajines to Moroccan-style cooking you're missing how versatile this tool is. Use it anytime you might use a casserole dish, and it'll do better. And it looks cool (the royal palace is modeled after one).
Does the job right July 29, 2008 A. Chamish (Florida) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Even though it is not the authentic Moroccan clay Tagine pot it does the job right and makes the right tasting Tagine without a problem... even in our toaster oven. The device may not be useful for the purpose of a show off nor as a conversation piece but it cooks right (if you know how to cook Tagine... or can follow the instructions). This one is small, will hold/cook an American size meal for a couple. If you intend to feed more at the same time, buy a larger size!
Chic, effective, and very small November 9, 2009 W. Warren (Texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love this tagine. Granted, it is the first tagine I have ever owned, but all things considered, I find it a great start. Speaking well of it's size, it fits perfectly atop my toaster oven when not in use, and I find it a wonderful way to make a lovely Moroccan inspired dish in under 10 minutes - really, there was one time I spent a tad longer chopping and dicing than it actually ended up taking to microwave the meal. It does work in the oven, but for where I am in life (a single, working bachelor) it works best in the microwave. Clean up is a breeze, and use is easy to pick up on.
Negatives? Size; do not plan on making a meal for more than two people in this one... especially if you use cuts of meat or fish (I myself am a vegetarian, so it really is not too big a deal to me, but I could see where that would produce a problem for someone wanting lamb shanks for four...). Also, the lid; it merely sits on top of the dish... no lip in which to sit or any sort of holding mechanism... merely sits on top... leaving great potential for gaps in the connection between lid and dish. BUT, if you set the dish in the microwave and then place the lid, it's an easily avoidable quandary.
Overall? Good purchase; I recommend it for the casual culinary world-traveller.
