Product Description G4931 Specifically designed to steep tea in mugs, cups and tea pots, this 24 karat gold plated tea ball is perfect for serious tea aficionados and novices alike. It is larger than most tea balls of tea eggs, so the leaves steel to a full flavor. The precisely defined openings of this tea ball holds back only the unwanted solids, while allowing the desirable flavor carries to pass through for a perfect cup every time. Because of its smooth surface, there is no residue build-up unlike mesh and it provides a neutral brewing environment that won t alter the taste. Features: - Ideal for use with a mug, cup, or tea pot - Larger than most tea balls of tea eggs so the leaves steep to a full flavor - Gold plated foil is neutral so it won't alter taste - Precisely defined foil holes that hold back unwanted residue while letting the flavors carriers (''colloids'') through - Smooth gold easy to clean - Sturdy and permanent construction for many years of use - Environmentally friendly; replaces disposable filters and eliminates waste - Material: black plastic with 24 karat gold-plated filter screen - Cleaning and care: dishwasher safe

| Customer Reviews: Good for other spices, too August 28, 2007 Nanciejeanne 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I just bought this (in addition to loose tea) for adding whole mulling spices to warmed cider, mulled wine, chutneys, and cranberry sauces. Most tea balls are not big enough for a pot of cider.
Further, the main reason I picked this model was because most tea balls I have seen open in the middle which makes loading a couple tablespoons of tea/spices a real pain (fill each half and try to get the 2 together quickly without spilling too much). Also emptying the darned things...pull apart and watch the used tea/spices fly! This has a nice little lid. (P.S. Williams Sonoma has really nice whole mulling spices (so you don't have to buy all the ingredients separately yourself...try it!)
Very good product May 29, 2007 B. Richardson (Chicago) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I am very satisfied with the SwissGold Tea infuser. It is very easy to clean, and I like the fact that it does not let tiny particles into the brew.
I have recommended this to various tea-loving friends, and the one who has tried it loves it also.
Best infuser ever!!! April 30, 2008 Lor (Mountains) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was using those bloody tea balls that are round and you have to fill both halves and then figure out how to clip them shut. Is it just me lacking dexterity or is that a really flawed design? Anyway, this infuser is perfect. Unscrew the top, toss in however much loose tea you want (A couple of Tablespoons of Chai but just one scant Tablespoon for the Earl Grey with extra bergamot), screw the lid back on and steep yourself some wondrous tea. Clean up could be easier but couldn't clean up always be easier? I love this infuser and will be buying a couple more just so I never have to worry about losing this or damaging this one.
Great Little Infuser May 28, 2008 K.S. (WA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This little infuser has come in handy for a variety of warm-beverage tasks. I definitely use this for tea, but I also use this in conjunction with a coffee press when the grounds are too fine for the press' sieve. This Swissgold infuser measures about 2-inches high and 1-1/2-inches in diameter. So, my guess is that it would hold up to 2-tablespoons of loose tea, depending on the particle size of the tea. Definitely recommend this for it's durability and functionality.
works well, a good purcchase March 9, 2007 Richard Fetik (Central Coast, Calif, USA) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I like tea. Real tea. Made in big pots. With good whole tea leaves. But when I use shredded tea, I use a tea infuser.
The Swissgold® TF 200 Tea Ball is the best tea infuser I've found, and I own several others. It has become part of my tea making routine.
It works as expected. Quality manufacturing.
My only peeve is that part of it is plastic, and I try to avoid plastic in my life.
Also, since it's not really a ball, more of a sloping cylinder shape, they should have called it a tea infuser rather than a tea ball. They probably hired a coffee drinker to name it :-).
