| Customer Reviews: sturdy and beautiful September 26, 2001 48 out of 49 found this review helpful
The picture doesn't quite do the coloring justice. The bottom of the pitcher is much darker than the top, ranging from a deep brown/red to a beatifully vivid fire-engine red at the top. The size is just right for sangria for four or a dozen dahlias. As a pitcher, the handle is large and comfortable, and the spout is well-designed and prevents those irritating drips that happen with shorter spouts. As a vase, it'll win you a zillion compliments. My cats have managed to knock it over a couple times, even though it's quite heavy, and there's not a chip to be seen. (This says more about the determination of the cats than about the weight or balance of the pitcher.)
This pitcher is awesome September 11, 2002 Alex J. Avriette (Arlington, Virginia USA) 28 out of 30 found this review helpful
Let me start off and say that these pitchers are two-tone. You can't really see it in the picture amazon gives you, but my "Citrus" pitcher is actually a beautiful orange on the bottom, flowing into a vibrant yellow on top.It is a large and somewhat heavy pitcher, but this is because it is constructed well. It pours very well, with only a little spillage when its very full or very empty. More than enough to keep a couple in water during a large meal. Be careful with it however, I think that it probably can't take too much abuse. I had to have mine shipped to me three times before I actually got one that wasnt shattered in shipping. It is dishwasher safe, and I suspect that it isnt prone to chipping and cracking from the dishwasher, but my guess is if you "bonked" it on anything, you might break it.

This pitcher is great for sangria and for making iced tea from scratch. I feel very confident when I pour in the boiling water knowing that I do not have to worry about breakage.

Le Creuset has a good reputation, and no wonder.
I purchased the 2qt. White Pitcher because it stored hot and
cold beverages. With the Holiday's coming up,I realized I was short of pitchers.
The pitcher came well wrapped, and it was even more lovely
than the picture display.
It is sitting now on my Dining Room table filled with brown
dried Fall foliage, against a colorful autumn tablecloth.
Everyone who comes in the door, raves at the beauty of the object.Besides being useful,it makes an attactive centerpiece.
With it's simple pure lines it appeals to every every decor.
Modern,Country,Traditional etc.

I have been using a Creuset dutch oven for twenty-plus years and it is still like new. With this respect for the company products I was curious about their stoneware line. This pitcher was my introduction; I was not disappointed. This is a heavy piece of pottery and it makes the perfect alternative to the boring utensil crocks that the other companies offer. The color has the nice shine to it, just as the enameled pieces do. I have since gotten a pie plate and ramekins. If you are familiar with the Creuset line, you will not be disappointed with this pitcher.
